| There are thriving markets in the local towns; Monday is Mirepoix; Wednesday is Bram; Friday is Limoux; Saturday is Carcassonne. All offer an insight into a way of life, which for many visitors is a bygone era. So the Rooftops can be your base from which to explore this fascinating region, which has numerous activities all year round.
In the Summer you can follow the Cathar trail with its many fortified medieval villages and castles, including the famous four chateaux at Lastours while the winter offers excellent skiing or snowboarding all within a relatively short distance.
